Learn to Play Rulebook and Other Updates

On Friday, February 16th, pictures of the Learn to Play rulebook were posted to the Fantasy Flight Games Community Forum for Legion by Undeadguy. While we've had glimpses of the rulebook before, these have all been from unboxing and demo game videos, leaving us with only incomplete and blurry images. (Thanks Undeadguy!)

Having this more complete and much easier-to-read set of rules helps to clarify a few things, such as suppression and movement rules, the exact name of upgrade card categories, how to set up a game and so on.

These clarifications are a great help to me as I prepare blog posts, and throughout the rest of February I will be updating the Unit Guides and Mission Setup articles to reflect them. Most of these updates will be very minor wording changes, so I probably won't always list them in the "Change Log" section at the end of the article.

That being said, I also have been adding more substantial updates to the Unit Guides. These are mostly done, though I have yet to discuss Luke Skywalker's Command Cards. I hope to have this and any other updates finished by the end of February as well.

FFG has also suggested on Twitter that the Rules Reference will be posted "soon". This Rules Reference will be a more complete set of rules that addresses things such as "Competitive Terrain Placement" and different terrain types beyond the plastic barricades in the core set. It will be maintained online and will be updated periodically to address FAQ and rules errata.

Hopefully this will be posted within the coming weeks. It should help to resolve more rules questions and provide some additional illumination for competitive and organized play. With a chance to peruse the Rules Reference ahead of time, the most eager players will be that much more ready to go on March 22nd, when Legion finally releases!
